“Gorgeous”

We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous little cottage. We were in Port Douglas for a friends wedding and the location was absolutely perfect. A short walk to the harbor, the pier, all shops and restaurants and to the beach as well. We loved the cute little place and the private pool, and the little touches on arrival like a fruit platter, beer and wine, made it that little bit extra special. Wayne and Graeme were very friendly and accommodating, I would recommend the cottage to anyone coming to Port Douglas.

Location & Nearby Attractions

The region of Far North Queensland (FNQ) is a magnet for visitors from all over the world, mainly because of its stunning natural attractions. Best known is the Great Barrier Reef – truly one of the natural Wonders of the World – a gigantic inter-connected web of reefs that extend hundreds of kilometers up the coastline of the Coral Sea.

Port Douglas

A 67 km, one hour drive north along a glorious coastline from the City of Cairns and Cairns International Airport, the Port Douglas Lodge and the Cottage both nestle in the centre of Port Douglas village.

The Villas are just a three minute stroll to beautiful Four Mile Beach and fifty metres to the shops, street cafes, boutiques, bars and restaurants of famous Macrossan Street.

Being so centrally located and within easy walking distance of all Port Douglas attractions, there’s no need to go to the expense of renting a car unless travelling out of town.

The Marina Mirage, a short five (5) minute walk, is the departure point for most trips to the Great Barrier Reef and home to even more shops and restaurants.

If you feel like venturing further, these luxury homes are a perfect base for exploring Far North Queensland. This is an outstanding region of Australia, with several world class attractions.

Far North Queensland

The region of Far North Queensland (FNQ) is a magnet for visitors from all over the world, mainly because of its stunning natural attractions. Best known is the Great Barrier Reef – truly one of the natural Wonders of the World – a gigantic inter-connected web of reefs that extend hundreds of kilometers up the coastline of the Coral Sea.

The Great Barrier Reef

The reef offers unparalleled opportunities for snorkeling and diving. Even visitors who prefer to stay out of the water enjoy spectacular sight-seeing on trips to the reef and its many sandy atolls.

Port Douglas is an ideal stop off for the Great Barrier Reef. Many reef tours are available from the village: long and short, adventurous and relaxed.

The Wet Tropics

The other World Heritage attraction of the region are the Wet Tropics – Australia’s largest area of surviving rainforest and home to a bewildering array of unique wildlife.

From Port Douglas, you’re only an hour from Cape Tribulation and the Daintree rainforest.

They provide what may be the finest rainforest experience on offer.

Appreciate the amazing primary forests with their gigantic ancient trees – and see if you can spot a cassowary, the overlords of these forests, found only in FNQ and Papua New Guinea.

Guest Reviews

The cottage is perfect for a couple who want to be close to everything Port Douglas has to offer. It had all the inclusions we needed with a full kitchen, bbq and private pool. There was a lovely fruit platter and plenty of fresh milk in the fridge when we arrived as well as some staples in the pantry. Fresh flowers were in the vases as well. The cottage is a short walk to all the shops and restaurants as well as the beach. The pool is perfect with plenty of outdoor furniture and there’s a great view from the upstairs balcony and bedroom. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable, we couldn’t fault it at all.”

“Just had the best 5 days at Port Douglas Cottage. Position was perfect with easy walking to everything. The accommodation was of high standard with plenty of room for all five guests. We will be back some time soon.”

“This beautiful free-standing home offers the best of both worlds – a quiet setting with a private pool surrounded by lush gardens, but just meters away from Macrossan St – coffee, groceries, boutiques and restaurants are all close by. The Lodge is full of character, stylish decor and was equipped with everything we needed, including super comfy beds. It was great to be able to walk to scenic spots around town and also to stroll over to the marina for our reef cruise. On a side note, we loved Lucas’s Lady Douglas riverboat cruise and could not recommend it highly enough! Thanks Graeme.”

“It was a lovely place for my wife and I to use as a base to explore the Port Douglas area. The location was perfect for walking to the many restaurant and bar options in the main part of town. The cottage was very clean, had a wonderful pool on the main level patio and a great balcony off of the upstairs bedroom. I would not hesitate to stay in the Cottage again should my travels take me back to Port Douglas.”

We stay in Port Douglas frequently, always in great accommodation. Our stay at The Cottage was the most relaxing and rejuvenating experiences we have had up here. A beautiful calming space that we can’t wait to return to. Having a cup of tea and a read on the balcony in the morning became one of my favorite things to do. We were so sad to leave and are already planning our return. This little cottage has a bit of magic about it! Wayne and Graeme are lovely and welcoming, we really enjoyed meeting them. See you again soon guys!”

We had a lovely three nights stay at the cottage. Size is just nice for two pax. Place was v clean and fully equipped. Location was also great – just off the Main Street where shops and cafes were abundant. Beach was also just around the corner and the marina – about ten minutes walk. So everything was v convenient. Most importantly, Graeme and Wayne were very prompt in replying to my emails and accommodating. I would definitely stay at the cottage again. Thanks for the lovely stay. We truly enjoyed it!”
